D-512 Agreement between Owner and Design-Builder for Progressive Design-Build

EJCDC® D-512, Agreement Between Owner and Design-Builder for Progressive Design-Build, is a core agreement for implementing the progressive design-build delivery method. It is structured to support early engagement of the Design-Builder during project development, substantial collaboration among the Owner, Design-Builder, and Design-Builder’s Engineer, and deferral of final construction pricing until the design is sufficiently developed. Particularly useful for projects that benefit from qualifications-based selection, open-book project development, and a collaborative design process, D-512 provides a practical contractual framework for Phase 1 services, development of the final price, and, if agreed, transition into construction.
